Description

Our Sencha Miyazaki is made from the most popular Yabukita cultivar, with tea leaves picked 3-5 days after the first flush harvest has begun, and it was grown on the coastal Miyazaki prefecture on the Island of Kyushu. Sencha is a fine Japanese tea from the first picking of the season- which is typically around February in milder climates.

Its slender leaf is fragrant, shiny, and dark in color. Once steeped, Its aromatic savory infusion produces a wonderful fresh green taste that is grassy, slightly vegetal in flavor, with a clear, brilliant green liquor with a nice touch of umami. Our Sencha Miyazaki has a fresh taste that you will enjoy for multiple steeps!

Beautiful tea, fragrant aroma upon opening, 2 scoops brewed at 55c for 1m:30s really has little to no bitterness like the gyokuro's and a lovely unique flavour unlike many other sencha's, good for 2-3 steepings with honey helps.

The overwhelming revelation of this sencha is how well balanced it is. Notes of green grass, seaweed, and minerals combine into a round smooth full-flavoured tea. As a bonus, it has gorgeous deep colour. One of the best cuppa i've had here without breaking the bank.

This was in my first order. When it ran out, I tried the Shizuoka Tsuyu Sencha for comparison, and I prefer the Miyazaki by a mile. It's much grassier, more fragrant, and so "juicy" – whereas the Shizuoka Tsuyu is more mellow. I like to drink sencha in the afternoon because it's so lively, and I find this one satisfying and full-bodied.

This is a lovely Sencha. Delicate aroma, lovely grassy colour, and delicious fresh taste, and it keeps delivering slightly different notes through a second and a third infusion. I will definitely be ordering this again.
